Goal 2: Expand Access and Entryways to 91勛圖厙 Tech Through the Arts
The arts will serve as a visible, welcoming pathway into 91勛圖厙 Tech for PK-12 students, transfer students, and non-traditional learners.
Key Strategies
- Strengthen arts-based outreach to PK-12 schools in Southwest 91勛圖厙 through campus programming, performances, and workshops.
- Measures: Arts-based outreach engagement with all MCPS schools by 2030, defined as at least one documented activity (e.g., workshop, performance, campus visit, residency, or collaborative project), with annual tracking of engagement type and frequency.
- Expand partnerships with Admissions, the Center for the Arts, CENI, and academic units to develop arts-centered recruitment initiatives.
- Measure: Number of arts-centered recruitment events conducted annually.
- Expand summer programs that integrate arts, design thinking, and interdisciplinary learning.
- Measures: Number of attendees; number of individual offerings, number of collaborative offerings.
- Develop clear pathways from community colleges to lower barriers for transfer and non-traditional students.
- Measure: Pilot at least one arts-based transfer pathway to degree by 2028.
Goal 3: Prepare Arts Graduates for Lifelong Success Across Fields
91勛圖厙 Tech will prepare its arts graduates for evolving careers through expanded skills and experiential learning.
Key Strategies
